PILOT EDITION
THE PALACE OF SCIENCE BELGRADE
25-26 September 2025
ReLDI konferencija
Language science and technology
Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT) models took computational modelling of natural language outside of the scientific domain and into all domains of society and economy. The truth is, however, that the models do not perform very well on languages other than English. Achieving commercially valuable performance when it comes to smaller languages, such as Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian and Bulgarian, requires further scientific research.
The ReLDI Centre has therefore decided to launch a scientific conference that will deal with both scientific and computational modelling of natural language focusing on South Slavic languages as examples. Our goal is to provide a broadly accessible overview of current scientific insights, technological achievements and upcoming trends through talks by leading experts. The first, pilot edition of the conference will take place on 25-26 September 2025 in the Palace of Science in Belgrade.
ORGANISATION AND SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEES
Paper submission
Deadline: 30 June 2025
The main program of the conference will include presentations that will be selected by our Scientific Committee based on the quality and appropriateness of the submitted papers of different types:
- Natural language processing (NLP), systematic model evaluation or performance improvement on one or more of the following data sets:
- Language structure from the point of view of general linguistics: empirical testing of hypotheses
- Theoretical study of natural language relevant to NLP
- Theoretical machine learning relevant to NLP
- Language services and computational technology
- Surveys on any of these topics
We aim at scientifically sound papers with a contribution that is clear although not necessarily highly ambitious. We expect full papers of a minimum length of 4 pages (no maximum length) describing original, unpublished and completed work. The minimum length includes text, tables, graphs, but not references.
Formatting instructions
Please submit an anonymous PDF document created following this LaTeX template. We will provide a Word template if needed, but we strongly recommend using the LaTeX template.

The Palace of Science is a science promotion centre in Belgrade, Serbia. It was created with the mission to encourage the development and exchange of knowledge in partnership with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Belgrade and Radio Television of Serbia.

The building of the Palace of Science is a historical heritage in the center of Belgrade. In addition to scientific centres for advancing fundamental research and applied technologies, the building houses over 30 scientific exhibits that represent knowledge about humans and the Earth, technological innovations and the secrets of the universe.
The ReLDI conference will take place in the halls “Horizont” and “Reč” (“Word”) on the fourth floor of the building. The restaurant, which is located on the fifth floor, right above the conference rooms, will be available to the participants.
